What's up
My semi-retired years have been full of family, sailing and
traveling. I had always traveled to remote locations in the South
Pacific, Australia and New Zealand but my Danish partner has pulled
me the other direction to Denmark, France, Germany etc. I have loved
spending time in Denmark and living in the biking mecca of the
world.
My Occupation:
In 2009, the scuba magazine that I worked for went under like many others
that year, so my traveling and diving in the South Pacific slowed
down. Since then, I found a great Danish man, who started me sailing
and racing in classic wooden yachts. It turns out, I love to sail as
much as I loved to dive. In my extra time, I am a media consultant,
have a small recycled sailbag company and started an Airbnb. So if
anyone is traveling to Maine, look me up.
My Family:
My son Mason is married to his high school sweetheart and has two
daughters Cassie (11) and Moira (8). He climbs trees, rocks and
mountains for a living. For fun, he back country skis the
Presidential Range including Tuckermans Ravine (a glacier on Mt.
Washington in New Hampshire). He helps with the rescues on Mt
Washington. Now the whole family are climbers.
My younger son Sam opened his business in mid-Maine, which means he is
only an hour drive from me. He now has two children, Ryan (3) and
Hazel just born yesterday! How lucky I feel that my children did not
move across the country, like I did.
Favorite Memories:
Friday nights cruising with the girls, Farmers Barn and the music,
poster parties, Mr. Weatherbee, for being encouraging and accepting
of our art, Mr. Lyons, for letting us touch things in biology and
Mrs. Farwig for being a great mentor as a track coach and avid
skier.
