What's Up:
Interests include music (classical, jazz, oldies), gardening, bird watching, and, of course, whatever my family is involved in.

Enjoyed activities include concerts (especially ones my husband or daughter are performing in), fishing, and family gatherings.  I enjoyed volunteering at Ocean Journey when it was focused on education.

My Occupation:
Now I work for the USDA Forest Service as an environmental specialist - I deal with compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), appeals and litigation.  I am looking forward to retirement.

For about 8 years I worked as a research scientist for ARS (Agriculture Research Service) first in bovine blue tongue and equine encephalitis, and then in honey bee diseases (I was the first to find mites in honey bees in the US).  I actually have some published articles on bee diseases.

My Family:
Husband - David Menapace is a retired teacher, professional musician, and avid fly fisherman.  He's now interested in trying his hand at wine making.  We've been married 35 years.
Son - Darin Menapace graduated valedictorian from Golden High School, graduated with honors from CSU with a degree in microbiology, married to Amy, and, for now, is enjoying the money he makes selling heating and air conditioning for Service Experts.
Daughter - Danielle Menapace (a very talented musician) also graduated from Golden High School, graduated from DU with a degree in music performance (oboe and English horn), and is now attending Ft. Lewis to get her teaching certificate.

Favorite Memories:
Good times with friends; helping with musicals; attending concerts and sporting events; being part of honor society, pep club, and other special interest clubs; and being a biology teaching assistant.
