What's Up:
After graduating from CSU, I traveled to Europe several times. In 1971
I lost my right leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident in Wheat
Ridge. I married in 1972 and moved to Hawaii to go to graduate school.
I then got involved in wheelchair sports and competitive swimming. I
competed in the Pan American Para Olympics in Rio in 1978; Para Olympics
in Holland in 1980; Pan American Games in Halifax in 1982; and Para
Olympics in NYC in 1984. Also got involved in wheelchair basketball and
helped found the Chicago Wheelchair Bulls. These days we go to the gym
6 days a week to swim or workout. Just got into Pickleball this last
year and love it!
My Occupation:
I spent 37 years in non-profit management. I started out as a fund
raiser for the Oahu Easter Seal Society in 1975, eventually becoming the
Director of Development for the Hawaii Easter Seal Society. We moved to
Chicago in 1982 to work for the National Easter Seal Society and was the
Director of Affiliate Relations. After leaving Easter Seals I did some
consulting work with some major national charities. In 1992 we moved to
the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. I was the Executive
Director of the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce until I retired
January 1, 2012.
I now serve on several non-profit boards and do business mentoring with
SCORE.
My Family:
I married my wife, Lee Ann in 1972. We have two sons: Scott lives in
San Diego with his wife Jisun, daughter Alice and son Walter. Scott is
self employed and does computer programming and writes technical books.
Chris lives in New York City with his wife Beth and new son James.
Chris is the national marketing officer for I-Smok, an e-cigarette.
Favorite Memories:
Playing touch football with Fred, Mike and Chuck. Going to state in
basketball. Going to all of the school basketball and football games.
Just being a kid in the 60's. Back
