What's Up:
I was just
home in Colorado the week of August 16th. Part of my heart is
always in Colorado. even though I have lived in Maryland for almost
30 years. My first husband was killed in a plane crash in 1981, but
I have a wonderful love-of-my-life, Joe Sikes, with whom I have been
married for about 14 years. We love hiking, exploring new trails
in various mountain ranges (welllll - what they call "mountains"
here in the East) and traveling. I treasure every second of life,
appreciating my family and good friends. My favorite activity is to
share life with them in any way we can.
My Occupation:
I serve as the
State Victim Advocate for MADD Maryland and serve on the Board of
Directors of National Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
My Family:
We have a
combined family of 5 living children. My oldest daughter, Jennifer,
is married with two boys, living in Flagstaff, AZ. My second child,
little Jeffrey, died at two months of age. Our third child, Alisa
Joy, was killed by a drunk driver in 1992, when she was 15. Our
youngest, Kevin, is now 24, living in Alexandria, VA. Joe has 3
adult children, all living in California. We have 4 grandsons, who
are so much fun.
Favorite Memories:
While on our
student tour, I remember John Larson defending me the last day in
Paris when I lost my passport. I remember the laughs with Kathy
(Baker) Renner (great photo with your sweet graduate daughter, Kathy
- I remember her when she was so tiny, in San Diego). I remember my
first kiss... I remember all the laughs during choir rehearsals. I
remember our drives to school with Susie Howard. Remember the time
we spun 180 degrees on the ice, Susie? I just enjoy memories of so
many dear friends.
