Ron Feldman
In Memoriam

After graduating from Wheat Ridge High School, Ron went to
CU on scholarship.  He then went to work for IBM.  One
day he told his dad he had quit work and wanted to go
around the world.  He only had $400 to start with but
did it anyway.  It took him 5 1/2 years.  Ron thirsted
for knowledge, so every country he stopped at he
learned the customs and language.  He eventually ended
up in Taiwan where he taught at the University and met
his wife.  They had a son in 1983.  Ron returned to
the US and in 1993 was diagnosed with Multiple Myloma
(Blood Cell Cancer) and was given only two months to
live. A bone marrow transplant from his younger
brother was unsuccessful and Ron passed away in 1993.
His wife Helen resides in Denver. His son just
graduated from Reed College in Portland, Oregon where
he is working.

Ron was featured in the last Wheat Ridge Banner for placing
third place in a national poetry contest sponsored by
Scholastic Magazine.

In the 10th Reunion Booklet, Ron wrote that he was staging
a non-violent protest against the encroachment of time
by non-attendance at my high school reunion.
